Hi,
Can you help me with a question I have? In my last newsletter I
told you about the imminent launch of Autobuildit.

The product has been launched now and by all accounts it was
another successful launch by Tahir Shah and Lee Benson. What I
wanted to know was, how did you respond to this launch? You will
have been emailed by lots of affiliates about this, how did you
feel about that? Do you respond well to these launches or do you
get put off by them. Are you offended by them and how do you feel
about affiliates that take part in launches?
A good friend of mine, Martin Avis, who has a very responsive and
loyal list of subscribers to his newsletter actually received
some criticism from some of his members accusing him of ‘selling
out’ by recommending the product to them.
The reason why I’m doing this research is because product
launches work. They work very well. What’s more, it seems to me
that people in the Internet Marketing space, the sort of people
that buy products and services to help them build their
businesses, respond better to being served a pre-defined
autoresponder email series for a product than they do to a
low-key offering or as I do in a ‘recommended resources’ area.
So let me know how you feel about big product launches where lots
of affiliates all mail their lists at the same pre-defined
intervals. Do you need the hard sell before you buy something,
seems like lots of us do for some strange reason? Would you think
that I had ‘sold-out’ to the launch fraternity if I participated
in launches in the future?

The Secret to Success
I have Jack Canfield’s book ‘The Success Principles’ which is a
great guide for getting from where you are to where you want to
be. I highly recommend it. I was listening to him talking about
this book on a video I have. He tells the story about a
conversation he was having with a friend of his where his friend
describes what he felt the secret to success was.
He said that the secret to success was like having the
combination to a lock. Success is like a safe. Inside are all the
things you want in life. To get hold of those things all you have
to do is unlock the safe. If you have the combination to the lock
then anyone can open the safe. It doesn’t matter how intelligent
or smart you are, what race you are, how old you are, whether
you’re the best copywriter in the world or not, none of it
matters.
If you have the combination you can unlock the door to your
dreams, even a child could unlock the door. The problem is that
many of us only have 4 of the six numbers that we need to open
the lock, and we’re doing those four numbers really well but
we’re missing the other two.
For me making money online is like those six numbers. We can be
doing some of the numbers really well but unless we are doing all
six in the right order we will never open the lock to success.
During the last few months I’ve been working on perfecting those
six numbers, analyzing what they are, what order they need to be
done in, honing the techniques and tools required and building
them into a system.
I mentioned several newsletters ago that I’ve bought and studied
both the Unstoppable Affiliate and Newbie to Millionaire products
that I recommend down below. Both of these provide a ready made
system that they use for affiliate success, what their particular
numbers are, and they form the basis of what I’m doing now and
beginning to see success from.
I’ve taken what I’ve learned from them, updated what I was
already doing with the new techniques and am building them into a
system that I can replicate. In time I want to slot outsource
staff into the elements of the system so I’m documenting what I’m
doing and also in the process creating my own product.

A few people have picked up on my comment in the last newsletter
about Google liking authority sites as opposed to small WordPress
sites. It seems that I might have given the impression to some of
you that I don’t recommend you build sites in WordPress anymore.
Let me stress immediately that I’m not saying that. I don’t see a
problem with WordPress sites personally as long as they provide
lots of content.
Part of the system that I mentioned above includes continually
adding extra pages of content after the site is initially built.
Going back to the numbers analogy, many of us (and I include
myself in this category) are doing a great job of building the
initial site, adding the plugins we need and the first couple of
pages but leaving it at that. That’s what I used to do myself,
make a great job of the website but neglect the content and
marketing.
I was missing two of the numbers so my results suffered. I wasn’t
getting the result I wanted, I wasn’t opening the lock to
success. We need all of the numbers in the right order.

Do you monitor your self talk?
We are all to often unaware of the chatter going on in our heads.
Many people don’t realize that this self-talk is going on, but it
is – 24/7! When we get bogged down in our day-to-day activities,
our jobs if we still have one, family commitments, worrying about
the bills, trying to get our business going or whatever else is
taking our conscious attention, we have self-talk going on in the
background.
If we don’t monitor what we are saying to ourselves or what
images we’re playing in our mind we could be feeding ourselves
negative self-talk that is holding us back from achieving what we
want to achieve. Make a point of tuning in to what’s going on in
your head and the minute you spot something negative, immediately
turn it round to something positive.
Thinking negatively destroys the efforts we’re making to change
our lives for the better.

Are you still being distracted by the volume of emails that you
receive?
One way that I have helped myself not get distracted is to create
a new email account in Google. Then go through the emails I
receive and change the email address on the ones I really want to
receive, because I find them helpful to me and my business, to
the new email address. I now only open my new email everyday. The
old one I look through a couple times a week, delete all of the
emails I have no interest in and change email address on the ones
I want to read.
In a short time you will cut down your emails that matter to just
a few each day.
