Hi,
It seems that affiliate marketing is about to change forever –
again, according to an email I received this week. It doesn’t
seem that long ago that we were being told that affiliate
marketing 2.0 was going to change affiliate marketing forever and
those that didn’t change, didn’t adopt the new way would be left
in the dust. Now it’s affiliate marketing 3.0 that’s going to do
it.
To be honest, although affiliate marketing has changed over the
years as advances in technology have enhanced the things that we
can do online I wouldn’t say that everybody that didn’t embrace
the new technologies have been left out in the cold. I have
affiliate sites that I haven’t changed for 10 years that are
still there and working.
However, what is different this time is Google’s influence on the
web. Since Google now controls over 80% of all searches online
anything that they do has a major impact on just about everybody.
Needless to say this latest announcement was centered around
another upcoming launch, this time it’s Affiliate Cash Snipers
from Michael Rasmussen and Mike Mograbi.
The basis of their argument is that buyers online are a lot more
savvy these days and have learned to ignore blocks of affiliate
ads. What our visitors want now is interaction. They want sites
like Amazon that can be personalized to their choices, that can
learn from their past activity and present them with products and
services that they are likely to buy. This sort of
personalization isn’t possible with the software tools that we’ve
been using to date. Affiliate Cash Sniper is promising to change
all of that.
There is no doubt that marketing on the Internet is changing and
whether we like it or not we do have to constantly make sure we
are aware of what’s changing and how those changes affect our
businesses. This latest launch takes place tomorrow so we’ll soon
have a better idea of what’s in store.
I mentioned last time that there is a growing opinion that Google
doesn’t like WordPress sites like it used to. I believe what that
really means is that they don’t like small 2 or 3 page affiliate
sites. I firmly believe that the future lies to some extent in
creating much larger sites of 50, 100 or more pages on a broad
theme. It is also true that Google loves syndicated type sites,
sites that have what is termed curated content.
The Huffington Post is an excellent example of this. Nothing on
that site is truly original. All of the content is pulled from
elsewhere and presented in one place with some additional
comments and views of the editor added. Despite that Alexa ranks
this site as one of the most visited on the web and Google loves
it.
As I’ve said before I believe that affiliate sites in future will
be based on a broader theme with links to lots of affiliate
offers spread throughout it.
If we find that WordPress sites start to get lower rankings in
the future it may be advisable to start becoming familiar with
one of the other site building tools like XSitePro or
SiteBuildIt! Those of you that purchased AutoBuildIt recently
will be able to achieve the same result with that.

findings next time.

If you bought anything online recently, think back to that
occasion and analyze what made you buy whatever it was. Was it
something in the sales copy or the way the site was laid out. Did
the headline catch your attention, did it satisfy a need that you
had at that time. If you were presented with the offer by several
people, like with AutoBuildIt, why did you buy from that site
rather than one of the others.
If you can train yourself to look objectively at your own
purchases, you will be better able to plan your own sales
approach for yours or affiliate products in the future.
